The river whispered “Come in” to me with each wave that slid on the plastic-bottle-covered sand. My right foot felt a stroke of fresh air as I took my other dirty vans off. I stayed seated for a few seconds while I took my last drags off of my cigarette and reminded myself for the last time why I was doing what I was about to do.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1"><span class="Apple-tab-span"> </span>It’s not like I could point out something specific. Things would be easier if I could just say that I had abusive parents, or that I did poorly at school. But it wasn’t that way. Things were fine. Just fine. And that was my problem. What bothered me the most, though, was that I struggled so hard to make it. Make it in theatre that is, because I felt that through theatre I could ultimately get a role in the biggest play of them all; life. I had realized that life was just a big joke, ‘cause people have let murder and rape become a part of their daily routine, how absurd is that? And why would I ever want to be accepted by people like that? I guess I just figured out that all the work I was doing was at a dead end.</span></p> <p class="p1"><span class="s1">I exhaled the tobacco for the last time and stabbed the sand with the cigarrete butt. My palms reached towards the grey clouds and my body followed.
